Straight answers about how Visibility Checkup works, what it measures, and what it can and can’t do for your business.
What is Visibility Checkup?
Visibility Checkup is a service that checks whether search engines and AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Bing and Google can find, understand and recommend your local business. Every week you receive a score, what changed since last time, and the next steps in plain English.
Why does AI visibility matter for a local business?
More people now ask AI assistants questions like "who is the best HVAC company near me?" and get a short list of names instead of a page of links. If an assistant cannot read your website or does not recognize your business, it tends to name your competitors instead.
What do you check on my website?
We check whether search and AI crawlers are allowed in and not blocked by a firewall, whether your pages have clear titles, descriptions and headings, whether the main text is visible without JavaScript, whether your business details are marked up with structured data, and whether you have a sitemap. Optionally we also check page speed.
How do you know whether ChatGPT or Perplexity recommends my business?
We ask both of them questions your customers would ask, such as "best dentist in your city", using live web search. We record whether your business was named, where it appeared in the list, whether your website was cited as a source, and which competitors were named. AI answers vary from one day to the next, so we show the trend over several weeks rather than a single result.
Will this guarantee that AI assistants recommend me?
No. Nobody can guarantee that. The checkup shows what is helping or holding you back and gives specific steps. Fixing them removes common technical barriers and gives AI assistants better information to work with.
Do I need to be technical to use the report?
No. Every finding is written in plain English with a short explanation of why it matters and what to do about it. You can pass the next steps to whoever manages your website.
How often do I get a report?
Weekly by default, by email. Each report compares your results with the previous one so you can see what improved.
How do I get started?
Send us your website address and the city you serve through the contact page. We will run your first checkup and send you the report.
